Ear drop usage technique

1. Lie down and tilt the head so that the affected ear faces up

2. While pulling the ear flap forward, pull ear lobe back and out for children and up, back and out for adults. This is to place the external auditory canal in a straight line for the medication to reach the ear drum. (Figure A)

3. Apply 3-4 drops to the affected ear, keep the ear facing up and press your earflap 3-5 times so that the medicine coats your ear canal and reaches your ear drum. (Figure B)

4. Lie in that position for 2-3 minutes.

5. Repeat the same to the other ear, if indicated.
